Excitement is brewing as we come to the final stages of CC2’s production.

I have finished all my graphic work, and can (mostly) put my feet up as Rhys finishes up his programming duties on the game.

The last graphical things I had to make, were a series of icons to represent 22 “achievements” that can be… um… achieved in the game. Here are just a handful to whet your appetite:

Looks nice! When can we expect to see this game released? I suppose rather soon, considering the demo has been released and the graphics are pretty much complete? At any rate, I am looking forward to playing this game.

      ITS THE FUTURE!

    • Yes, the graphics are completed, although there is still a fair bit to do. We want to get the game out asap but I don’t want to cut corners in any way to get it out sooner.

If we’re lucky, the game will be ready for final testing and distribution at the end of January. Otherwise, it shan’t be much later.

I have one question. Were you aware, Rhys, that the first level can be beat with only three hunters, not even using any xp rewards? I played the demo and found that I could just call in three hunters, and defeat Neanderthal Neal fairly easily, without any other cavemen at all whatsoever. I wasn’t sure if this was intentional on your part or not, so I decided I would report this to you.

I just tried it myself, and you’re right. A tough battle, but yes, I was able to defeat his tribe with my initial three hunters.
This is something we have thought about and tried to put measures in to stop it from being possible. On other levels later in the (full version of the) game, it’s certainly not possible to do that, as the enemy is much better equipped.
Thanks for picking up on this, we’ll try to sort it out for the full version.

I dont think its nice or fair to only let people who pre-order play the demo. I’ve bought the special edition, and followed the blog since the very start, being a great fan of the game.

Now I cant pre-order at the moment, meaning I cant play the demo while other people who might not be such fan’s of the game but can pre-order can play the demo.

Just my thoughts, Iam still very happy and grateful u have been working so hard on the game and still are.

    Greetings.

      Hi Soer,
We try to do all we can to show thanks to those who support us but it can be difficult to ensure that everybody is happy when everybody lives in different circumstances.

Send us an email with your full name and I’ll match it up with your CC: SE purchase and send you a copy of the demo.

Thanks for you fast reply, I’ve send an email through the caveman craig website. I am very exited.

I have to say, I am very impressed with the demo. The graphics are really stunning and the gameplay is really fun.

I am looking forward to the full release.

Hello Parabox Games. I have stumbled upon another issue with Caveman Craig 2. I have noticed that when training hunters, it is possible to train them to throw rocks by taking pot shots into enemy territory. There is a very good chance that you will hit a rival tribe member by throwing rocks across the territory border, while still in the safety of your own territory. As their tribe increases in size, it becomes easier to exploit this issue. This also makes the target xp reward irrelevant, as it is quicker and easier to use than the target. Well, it is for me anyway.

  7. Soer

I used that tactic aswell, and I was able to kill tribe members without them attacking my tribe. Is that normal, or should they be mad if you kill or hurt there tribe members and attack back?

  8. Enemy hunters do generally stand far back ify ou try to attack them while they are in their territory and you are in yours. The other cavemen don’t, though. I could change this (this would be ideal – if the enemy tribe attacked out of frustration, it would be attacking at crippling times making you able to bully them into making silly decisions).

  9. Soer

Yes, that is a great idea. The enemy tribe’s frustration should also build up if you steal dead dino’s or berrys from their territory!

Also, what I have found to be a great hinder is having to click all your hunters sepratly when you are going to attack the enemy tribe, especially when you have 10+ hunters. Maby a XP bonus should be a drum in or at your cave that gathers all the hunters when you use it?

    • Hi Soer,
Click on the icon on the top right shaped like two cavemen heads. It will show you an overview of all your cavemen. You can click on the arrow icons next to each hunter you want to follow you.

You can also use this screen to quickly check their health/energy levels (click on them to make them eat or sleep), and see their info screen.
